Day 1
TRIVANDRUM TO VARKALA
Pick up from Trivandrum & head to Varkala
On the way, Visit
Jatayu Rock -
You will certainly get mesmerised with Kollam’s
latest tourist attraction, the Jatayu Earth’s Center that hosts
the world’s largest bird sculpture. Spanning over 65 acres across four hills,
this is the State’s first ever BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer)
tourism.
The monumental statue of Jatayu resting high up the
hill catches your attention even from afar on your way to Chadayamangalam
in Kollam district. Jatayu is a legendary bird from the Indian epic Ramayana.
You can reach the hilltop using a cable car. A
multitude of experiences await the traveller in Jatayu Rock. One such is the
museum and the 6D theatre inside the sculpture.
Post Lunch visit
Evening, left for leisure at Varkala beach

Day 2
VARKALA SIGHTSEEING
After Breakfast, Proceed for Varkala sightseeing
Mangrove Village
Adventure -
The mangrove forest in Nedungolam, Paravur, in the
district of Kollam, is located at a distance of 18 km from Varkala.
Perfect for a half-day trip, one can go on a 4km kayaking during the morning or
evening. Sailing through these canals of Nedungolam, especially
the mangrove forest, is a must-try experience. Mangrove Village Adventures is a
leading tour operator for this experience.
Varkala Cliff &
Beach -
Varkala beach is the only place in southern Kerala
where cliffs are found adjacent to the Arabian Sea.
These cliffs are of tertiary sedimentary formation and named by geologists as
Varkala Formation. They are a geological monument as
recorded by the Geological Survey of India.

Day 3
VARKALA TO POOVAR
Morning after breakfast, Check-out from resort and
proceed to Poovar. On the way, visit
Veli Lagoon -
Veli Tourist Village - 10 km from Resort, this picnic
spot, where the Veli Lake meets the
Arabian Sea, offers boating facilities. Pedalboats and paddleboats can be hired
to explore the
charms of the lagoon in a leisurely manner. For a quick ride over the waters,
speedboats are
available for hire. Children enjoy climbing over the huge sculptures which dot
the landscape. Veli
Tourist Village also has a children's park and a Floating Café
Rock Cut Cave
temple -
The granite cave encloses a one-celled shrine with a
loose sculpture of Vinadhara Dakshinamurti.
The outer wall of the cave depicts unfinished reliefs of Siva as
"Tripurantakara" on the left and as "Nataraja" with Parvati on the right

POOVAR SIGHTSEEING
Azhimala Shivan
Temple -
The temple is noted for its 58-ft-tall statue of Lord
Shiva in the Gangadhareswara form, all made in concrete.
The massive structure with Shiva's hair flowing in the wind and holding Goddess
Ganga has a charm of its own and lends a magnificent
appeal to the temple.
Poovar Boating
Cruise -
The temple is noted for its 58-ft-tall statue of Lord

POOVAR TO TRIVANDRUM

Vizhinjam Port and
Kovalam Beach -
Vizhinjam Lighthouse is situated near Kovalam beach
in Kerala. It started functioning on 30 June 1972.
Vizhinjam was a busy sea port in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Proceed to Kovalam beach
